New US Law May Cause Your Online Gambling Account to be Locked Down

That is right, after last weekend, when Congress passed a bill, late night on October 1st, making it illegal for a financial institution to transfer funds to any gambling company, accounts at some of the premier online gambling venues have begun to lock down accounts. The bill is not officially law until the President signs it, or vetos it, which is highly unlikely, but the some gambling companies are already starting to enforce the law from within their own companies to get a head start.

The move is definietly going to take a chunk out of the business of these foreign companies. To read more on the law read the article at LaTimes.

This past weekend I logged into my account at Bet365, my favorite sportsbook, and my account was locked down. To my dismay, all it said was that my account was no longer able to place bets and to contact support with questions. So I contacted support, and the girl, who was obviously quite busy but helpful, said that she would be able to transfer my funds back to Neteller. Within minutes, I had my money.

After this, I logged into my account at Bodog, and viola, my account was still open. Although Bodog doesn't have live betting, which if you read some of my previous articles you know is my favorite, but I was able to place bets.

I will attempt to do some research to find out where, in these times of US congressional failure, one can still place some bets even though you live in the US.

So as you can see some are open for business still and probably will continue to be open for business.
